Sacred Heart College
Located in the nature-flourishing
grass-fields of the North-West Region in Cameroon, Sacred Heart College Mankon
nurtures the optimal environment to turn your ambitions and dreams into
reality. This boarding secondary school for boys in Bamenda was realized in
1961 by the Mill Hill missionaries, from a strategy to accommodate boys from
Bamenda who passed the entrance examination into the prestigious Sasse College
in Buea. Starting with 30 students and headed by Rev. Fr. Thomas Mulligan, the
campus of R.C.M Big Mankon was initially
used due to the lack of appropriate infrastructure.
The first batch of students graduated in 1965, the same year when the Mill Hill missionaries handed over administration of the school to the Marist brothers. On the 8th of July in the same year, the college was officially inaugurated by Hon. Augustine Ngom-Jua, the late former Prime Minister of West Cameroon. The high school science section was opened in 1978, with the arts department following suit a year later.
SHESA Germany e.V. was first founded in 2008 and had a successful run until 2015, where it fell into semi-latency until its revival in 2020 with the same mission but with renewed determination.
